Faye Grimm thought there was no such thing as Faeries, and nightmares were nothing more than bad dreams. Until the Fey stole her away and she discovered her last name was more than just a coincidence. Eight years later, she and her family are still trying to come to terms with the terrifying world that has invaded their lives—a world that now threatens to claim her younger sisters, Ember and Evadne.
Faye has devised a reckless plan to save her sisters from her fate, but before she can carry it out the unthinkable happens—she is kidnapped by a group of mere humans. In retaliation Ember and Evadne are dragged into the dark and dangerous Faerie Realm where they can only trust each other as an unstoppable, inherited power blooms within them. Caught between Summer and Winter Courts in an age-old struggle for power and control, the girls fight to keep hold of who they are. Both courts believe that Ember and Evadne are the twins from an ancient prophecy, but no one can see the darker hand pulling the strings beneath it all. A figure entangling them in secrets, and seeking to unveil an even greater evil with the girls’ blood.
Desperate to return to the Realm to help her sisters, Faye is doing everything she can to escape her kidnapper Ronan, despite the mind numbing drugs forced into her system every day. As she struggles to outwit Jeremiah, the true mastermind behind her kidnapping, the truth about why she was taken slowly begins to emerge. I’ve been cursed all my life, I just didn’t know it until the day the monsters came and stole me away.
Some say the cursed have nothing to lose, but as I stand upon the brink of destruction, I know I risk losing everything.
If I cannot find a way to break this curse, my sisters will bear my fate and all these years of fighting will be for naught.
I am Faye Narah Grimm. I am a wolf with a lion’s heart, and I will not be afraid.
I have not come to meet my fate.
I have come to tear her apart.
My world has been divided into two distinct parts; before and after.
Before Faye was taken, our family maintained a fragile semblance of normal.
Now, trapped in the aftermath, normal is a distant memory. We are forced to continue living as Faerie magic slowly overtakes our lives; poisoning everything it touches.
It is a magic that destroys and corrupts, leaving nothing but darkness and pain in its wake; and it is a magic that has begun to grow within Ember and I.
There is precious little time, before we are taken and I am forced to begin to live in a new, divided reality. One that marks before and after we were taken.
When they took Faye, the world as I knew it shattered. Since then, we’ve played a dangerous game of denial with the Fey that prowl at the edges of our life.
But now the game is up, and there’s no escaping fate. Evadne and I have begun the sickness, and it’s only a matter of time before they return and take us too.
The Faerie Realm has always been our destiny, it has always been our curse. But what lies beyond the day they take us, is a mystery. A fate bound in silence and riddles.
I cannot deny that I am afraid. Afraid that when that world drags us into its depths, I will lose what few pieces of myself I have left; and all that will be left is the anger that burns within me.
I do not want to know what I’ll turn into, when my world shatters again.

Writing Update:
(As of April 2024)
Book Two, Breaking Grimm, is currently in the final stages of editing. After that, I will be starting the formatting process and then it will got to my proof-reader.
Book 3 is currently in the works, and I hope to have a final draft finished by no later than July. (We'll see if my hopes are too high,) (as per usual).

I aim to convey themes of hope in the midst of great sorrow and heartbreak. Courage in the face of evil, standing up for what's right and fighting for the ones you love.
I hope to express the ideas that, no matter what you're facing, there are things worth fighting for. Moreso, no matter how you feel, you have the strength to rise again and continue fighting.
These are all ideals and truths I pull from my faith, and in my aim to create God honoring fiction, these are truths I try to convey around the darker, heavier themes we so often encounter in this life. We live in a dark world, and we face great darkness everyday.
How we face it, and find courage in the fight, is one I believe can be conveyed through the journey of a life.

I have characters who are flawed, characters who fall, characters who lose hope. But we all do at some time or another, don't we? In the end, isn't it more important not how many times we fall, but how many times we rise again to keep fighting?
By the grace of God, we rise again, and while I don't write allegory, I write that strength and courage.
As C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien so often fought over, should a book necessarily be an allegory to be of worth? I land firmly on the side of Tolkien. :) Which is why I don't write allegories, I write concepts and ideas, themes of Christianity, if you will.
I know that I am not everyone's cup of tea, and I'm okay with that.
As always with my writing, my heart is to open the door for conversations about the one true source of hope in this life, Jesus Christ.
I've at last found peace in my convictions as a Christian author and my goal is always,
Soli Deo Gloria
